I can’t reflect on a single event that shaped my beliefs because there have been so many. I do, however, have many people in my life who have helped inspire them.
Mr. and Mrs. Khaliqi are the youth directors at the church I go to. Mr. Khaliqi is a very knowledgeable person and is always willing to answer our questions. He also always challenges us in our faith and in everyday life, encouraging us to grow closer to God. His wife has always been a kind soul and a shoulder to cry on. She has always sends members of our youth group cards in the mail. ( which in this day and age is kind of rare) She always seems to have perfect timing, sending us a little “thinking of you” note when we need to hear it the most. Mr. and Mrs. Patzer are also youth leaders. Mrs.Patzer has always been open to whatever someone needs to talk about. It is so amazing to see, and hear her testimony of how God is revealing himself to her everyday. She always is great to be about and reminds me how exciting it is to be a Christian. Mr. Patzer is always the one to talk to if you need a laugh, and is really down to Earth and seems to know exactly what we’re going through.
For as long as I can remember Wednesday has always been my favorite day of the week because it is the day I to see the other members of the youth group. There is a whole bunch of us who just really love to be around, and encourage each other, and grow together in our walk with the Lord. We always start the night off with a game or activity, then settle in for a lesson. At the end of the lesson there is usually a discussion of some sort, which is usually challenging and inspiring. Then everyone sort of lingers as long as possible, before going home.
With out the influence of so many great people I’m not exactly sure what I would believe in. I am so blessed to know these people who have inspired my beliefs and continue to do so everyday.
