Camp was an experience that I will never forget. In most cases, you are generally in a cabin with about 8 other guys and 1 counselor. Throughout the experience, you get to know both God, and each other, very well. Every morning we would wake up and head down for breakfast. Following that, we would all meet at Chapel. Chapel is a time when you could basically have a one on one converstaion with God. Although it was not your normal chapel, you could just feel He was next to you. It was a thrilling ride, because we didn’t sit down and listen to a preacher, we got on our feet and sang and danced.
Through out the week, you had to climb a tower. I felt as I was getting to the top of the large tower, that I was defeating an opponent. I made a connection at that point, that opponent was actually myself!!!! I was not allowing myself to open up completely to God. Camp Timberlee is where I defeated my biggest, toughest, and most feared opponent. That was myself. That camp helped make me whole, and feel connected to God.
