This past year God has taught me so much. Last May, my
Dad resigned from his job, and was without one for 6 months. This time of
relying on God allowed me to be stretched like never before. With five kids in our family, it was hard to
always trust that God would provide for all our needs. Despite my times of
doubtfulness, God was so faithful to take care of our every need!
One of the biggest things he taught me however was to ask
big! Before this hard trial I had always
prayed for the little things in life. God wants us to come to him about
everything, but I would often find myself asking for things that I knew would
eventually work out in the end.
God totally transformed my prayer life and put it on my heart, to ask for
things that could only happen because of him. He taught me to be bold when I
pray and not doubt. It’s pretty sweet to know that the God of the
universe wants us to come to him and ask for things that are totally out of our
reach. He taught me how to get excited about praying for big things and
allowed them to be on the forefront of my mind! God also, wants us to be persistent in our
prayers and keep knocking on the door, even if we think no one is there.
God taught me to pray for things that are so
big, that I would be embarrassed to pray about if there wasn’t a god. He taught
me to be dependent on him and pray “if you don’t, it won’t”. In other words, if God doesn’t come through,
then it won’t happen.
Looking back, it’s cool to see how God has answered so many
prayers, that I never thought were possible to answer. God is so good and faithful and it’s awesome to know that we can come to him about the little things and the big things. Our God is so great and I want
my prayer life to truly reflect how big he is!
Kaylah,
Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The Lors your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Isn’t that just awesome?
May God continue to reveal Himself to you as you begin this journey.
In Him,
Christian’s Mom, Tiffany
